Even websites seemingly well designed from the site administrator’s viewpoint could prove to be difficult to use or even be completely unrenderable, depending on the user’s environment and the website implementation methods. However, in most cases, it is difficult for a site administrator to grasp the level of accessibility in various environments.
This service provides an evaluation by a specialist of a website that is currently accessible to the public or is planned to be released, and provides a measure of its accessibility.
Service Objectives
The Web Accessibility Evaluation Service can be most effective in situations such as those listed below, where you wish to enhance your awareness and understanding of accessibility as a first step toward improving the overall accessibility of your website. This may include understanding the current problems (or confirming the lack thereof) or changing your organization’s overall attitude towards accessibility.
- You wish to improve the accessibility of your website, but first need to understand the status quo.
- You have some concerns over the accessibility of your company website.
- Your staff understands the importance of accessibility, but must bring it to the attention of the executive sponsors as well.
- You want to increase the awareness of accessibility within your organization.
Service Characteristics
The inspection report will not simply point out problems but will also provide easy-to-understand explanations using illustrations and will also include detailed procedures for making improvements to your website, where possible. Thus, the report will not only assist you in understanding the current limitations, but will also provide methods to improve your existing website.
Optional services such as a report presentation and seminar and Screen Reader Testing will provide you with a more detailed analysis as well as resolve any uncertainties that would require clarification.
Service Content
- Development of evaluation report
- In the report, screenshots of the target pages are presented, on which the problematic sections are highlighted together with illustrations and explanations that are easy to understand. Measures for improvement are also included as a part of the report.
- Report presentation and seminar sessions (optional)
- A detailed presentation and explanation can be provided on the report. Naturally, any questions raised during these sessions will be answered on the spot.
