While more and more companies and organizations are realizing the importance of websites, ageing of population is also progressing at a rapid pace not only in Japan but also on a global scale. As a result, it has naturally become extremely important not only for governments and public but also for corporate organizations whose websites have been traditionally targeting younger users to convince elderly persons to use their websites.
At the same time, owing to the constant advancement of technologies and the high accessibility inherent to the Web medium, there has been an increase in the number of handicapped users, only a handful of whom were traditionally able to access the Web.
However, existing websites rarely take this diversification in the user segment into consideration. One probable reason for this is the lack of knowledge of how these new users actually gain access to and make use of websites.
In this service, we have collaborated with Infoaxia Co., Ltd. a consulting company dedicated to accessibility with technical know-how and involvement in the development of various accessibility standards such as Japan Industrial Standard (JIS) X 8341-3, World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) 2.0. While Mitsue-Links offers architecture and development of websites as its mainstream service, it also employs specialized and trained staff in the field of accessibility, and has special facilities, such as a user testing studio. Together, we build on each organization's strengths to provide a comprehensive Web accessibility service, which is one of its kind.
