Social Contribution Activities

We strive to contribute to society under our corporate creed of “The mind seeks form, and form advances the mind” (meaning our mind affects our behavior and our behavior affects our mind). Here are some of social contribution activities we have been engaged in.

2015 -

24 October 2017, Donation to the United Nation's WFP

We made a donation to the United Nation's World Food Program (WFP). The UN's WFP seeks a world without hunger through the provision of food relief activities and promotion of food security. With the UN designated World Food Day this month, we donated to this organization to contribute to stopping hunger and resolving food supply concerns.

7 April 2017, Donation to the Sakura Namiki Network NPO

We made a donation to the Sakura Namiki Network NPO.

The Sakura Namiki Network is engaged in planting cherry blossom trees along the most inland inundation limits of the tsunami triggered by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Planting serves several purposes such as ensuring memory of the tragedy lives on, appeasing lost souls, and creating local jobs. Our donation will go towards the planting of cherry trees.

6 January, 2017 Donation to the Fund to Support Children's Future

We made a donation to the Japan Foundation’s Fund to Support Children's Future.

Child poverty alleviation isn’t limited to “charity projects” but also an investment in the future, therefore, donated monies will be used for supporting grassroots NPOs that work closely with children in living in poverty as well as contributing to projects that nurture children's “zest for living.”

4 October, 2016 Donation to the 2016 Typhoon 10 Response Fund

In August 2016, heavy rain associated with the 10th typhoon of the season brought great damage to the northern Japanese regions of Iwate and Hokkaido.

We made a donation to the Japanese Red Cross Society's 2016 Typhoon 10 Response Fund (in Japanese). The donated monies are to be distributed to the earthquake victims through donation allocation committees established in the affected area.
We offer heartfelt expressions of concern to all those that suffered in the disaster.

1 July, 2016 Donation to Special Olympics Nippon

We made a donation to Special Olympics Nippon.
Special Olympics, a global non-profit organisation, offers people with intellectual disabilities training in various sports as well as the opportunity to participate in sporting events and competitions. Through sport, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, gain confidence and acquire a sense of fulfillment. Our donation will go towards supporting the foundation’s operations to ensure that the good work conducted by coaches and volunteers continues in the future.

19 April, 2016 Donation to the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake Response Fund

We made a donation to the Japanese Red Cross Society's Response Fund for the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake Disaster.
The donated monies are to be distributed to the earthquake victims through donation allocation committees established in the affected area.

We offer heartfelt expressions of concern to all those that suffered in the disaster.

8 April, 2016   Donation to Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders

We made a donation to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)/Doctors without Borders.

Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders is an international non-profit medical and humanitarian organization that seeks to meet the most pressing medical care needs of people around the world. MSF provides neutral, impartial and ethical support to victims of conflicts and natural disasters, as well as to people living in poverty and others who cannot access healthcare services.

22 January, 2016 Donation to Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi (KnK)

We made a donation to Kokkyo naki Kodomatachi (KnK), an NPO also known as Children without Borders.

The organisation supports underprivileged and troubled children in Asia reintegrate into society through the provision of education and vocational training - thus allowing the children to grow into independent adults with self-esteem.

October 8, 2015 Donation to Central Community Chest of Japan's fund for local authorities seeking disaster relief for damage wrought by typhoon No.18

In September 2015, record breaking amounts of rainfall caused by the passing of the eighteenth typhoon of the season wrought great damage in the Japanese prefectures of Miyagi (Osaki City, Taiwa Town), Ibaraki (Koga City, Joso City), and Tochigi (Kanuma City, Oyama City). The deluge triggered the calling for support through the Disaster Relief Act.
We offer heartfelt expressions of concern to all those that suffered in the disaster.

We made a donation, through the Central Community Chest of Japan, to local authorities seeking disaster relief funds for damage inflicted by typhoon No. 18.
The Central Community Chest of Japan will ensure that donated monies are remitted to the affected prefectures in order to provide the most effective response to the disaster situation. The monies are to be distributed to victims through donation allocation committees that will be established in each prefecture.

July 3, 2015 Donation to UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund)

We made a donation to UNICEF through the Japan Committee for UNICEF.

Our donation is expected to be utilized for ensuring the survival and healthy growth of children in more than 150 countries and regions over the world through UNICEF's activities, in the areas of health, nutrition, water sanitation and hygiene, education, and child protection.

May 8, 2015 Donation to Association for Corporate Support of the Arts (Kigyo Mécénat Kyogikai)

Mitsue-Links made a donation to the Association for Corporate Support of the Arts (Kigyo Mécénat Kyogikai).

The Association for Corporate Support of the Arts (Kigyo Mécénat Kyogikai) was founded in 1990 by corporations as Japan's only not-for-profit organization with aims to promote corporate support of the arts and culture. The Association performs multifaceted activities such as undertaking research, honoring achievements, providing grants, consulting, facilitating international exchange, and issuing of listings magazines etc. to achieve its goals.

January 9, 2015 Donation to Room to Read

Mitsue-Links made a donation to the international NGO Room to Read.

Room to Read operates with the belief that “world change starts with educated children.” Active in Africa and Asia, Room to Read seeks a world in which all children are provided with an opportunity to reach their full potential through equal access to quality education. A higher level of child education will contribute to the creation of local community and world development.
