Podcasting is a means of making audio data available via the internet. Podcasts are essentially audio blogs and are even referred to by some as "blogcasts." As audio data can now be distributed via RSS, providing that users have an aggregator (data gathering software) such as iTunes or iPodder, they can obtain updated audio clips automatically without actually accessing the host website. What is more, as users can listen to downloaded clips on their iPod or other portable music player, podcasting offers the major advantage of enabling users to enjoy contents regardless of what time it is (time shift) and where they are (location free)
